Wimbledon has been a HUGE celeb draw this year — bigger than usual, maybe? — and I can only assume the U.S. Open will continue that trend, because they’re slapping down more and more red carpets at the tournaments and where the rugs go, the stars will follow. Accordingly, I have to do two posts today to catch you up on all the sportsfaces, first from the semis and the Ladies’ Final, and then later, from the men’s event.

I loved how interesting the women’s draw was this year, even if it meant some of my faves went out earlier than I’d like, and it was very emotional seeing Barbora Krejcikova win. She was a protege of the late Jana Novotna, and Wimbledon meant a lot to Jana; no one will forget her crying on the shoulder of the Duchess of Kent in 1993, and when she finally won it in 1998, it would be her only singles Slam. (She won them all MULTIPLE times in doubles and three out of the four in mixed doubles. I loved watching her.)

ANYWAY. The spectators on the final Sunday will be up next.
