The red carpets are dropping like flies: The Grammys (Jan. 31) have been indefinitely postponed, and the Critics’ Choice Awards were meant to be this weekend and have no new date on the horizon. The Golden Globes ARE still taking place on Sunday, but because everyone is boycotting the HFPA and NBC ages ago canceled its broadcast contract, there are no celebrities attached and no one knows exactly how the winners will be announced. Jessica’s theory is that someone will just stand atop the parking garage at The Grove and yell names into the abyss.

The point is… well, it’s getting thin around here again, but we’ll do our best. And since the Globes ARE going to announce winners, I dug around a bit more in the archives and rediscovered our first major Emma Corrin Awards Experience. You’ll recall their season of The Crown aired during the pandemic, and then they raked in the trophies for playing Princess Diana; the Globes was, thanks to Covid, pretty much the big debut of their red-carpet style. As you’ll see above, Emma was not a total stranger to the experience, but a plum role, Netflix cred, favorite status, and a future role opposite Harry Styles — plus, his actual stylist — can do wonders for a person’s ability to get their hands on things that allow them to express themselves. The top of 2021 felt like a turning point there for Emma. And in 2022, they have at least one if not two things coming, so I suspect we’ll see them stretch even more.
