Naomi Osaka looked better at this tournament than she has yet in her comeback, even if she didn’t make it that far — and she was crying after she won her first-round match in a lime-green outfit custom-made for Nike by Japanese designer Yoon Ahn, who said the inspiration was the idea of the “magical girl” in their culture. It’s SO extra but in a way that made it very, very apparent what the reference was, and why, and I always enjoy that. In a sea of basic outfits in variable colorways, her bows were such a hilarious surprise.
