As you may or may not be aware, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened to everyone over the weekend. My own personal mantra for this event, as I’ve mentioned here many times previously, is that this is not the time to splash out on a bunch of random stuff as much as it is a good time to stock up on stuff you know you need or will definitely use. For example, my favorite Clinique moisturizer is on sale in the jumbo size. I also like this Clinique mascara; the sale item is a duo, so this is another one of those where I’d really only get it if it’s your holy grail, everyday mascara. A lot of the sales in beauty are on jumbo sizes or doubles or both, so double-check you’re not ordering something super huge that you’re only mildly into. I love this Supergoop! sunscreen and repurchase over the summer, so it’s great for me to get two jumbo ones at one go but that’s not always the case, obviously. (I keep thinking about the tie I once absent-mindedly ordered a case of mustard instead of one jar.)
It’s also a good time to grab a new bra (it looks like a lot of Wacoal is marked down), or socks (like, they’ve got a lot of Bombas in the sale). Maybe you need some new luggage. The home stuff is pretty good, especially if you need sheets and towels, or you aren’t picky about the color of your Le Creuset. You know the drill! This is not your first Anniversary Sale!! (In fact, if you look at the “bestsellers” tab, it’s A LOT of bras.)
