It seems Hollywood is taking its award-show cues not from the Emmys, but from the CMAs, despite the former being roundly praised for its efforts and the latter being lambasted for appearing to shrug off the pandemic. The AMAs were held with no audience down in the main seats but plenty of people clustered together up in the balcony — I hope they were PAs who’d been Covid tested all week as part of preparations — and live performances all night. At least it’s a big room?

Let’s forge ahead assuming the insurance premiums on this thing were so high that they figured out an airtight Covid strategy, because down the other road, madness lies. And Taraji certainly came to play, bringing us a little Before Times glamour by changing clothes approximately a bajillion times.
