It must be so difficult to pack for a press tour after that premiere. That epic premiere. Every attendee basically stuck the landing like they were Aly Raisman on the floor apparatus. So there was bound to be a little bit of a comedown, although fortunately it’s not epic. The above Elie Saab is a funky idea; I like the color and the material, and the skirt. In fact, I don’t mind the top, either. But what is happening around the waistband? It’s like something is becoming untucked. There’s an extra pad there that’s harshing the flow.

Oh, wow. This man in a turtleneck. It works. Some people walk in the light.

“Have you seen Chadwick?!? I’m not competing with him in a turtleneck. Chadneck. Turtlewick? Both.”

I don’t have a dress credit on this yet, but I will add it when it comes. This is exceedingly bold and super on her.

Speaking of bold and super. This is a menswear look from Dent de Man, which is doubly cool — why NOT shop from those racks for a suit? — and I think she’s carrying it very well. I chose this photo because it’s the best full look at the outfit, but I think the angle isn’t the best. Here, in motion…

… it sings a bit more. I’m into it, Angela.

This is true to how Mary Katrantzou showed it on the runway, and… I mean, it’s very 1995, in its way. All that layering. The cut wouldn’t work without the shirt under it, but it feels kind of like a wet suit… Basically, it’s a sprightly bouquet of flowers that I wish we could rearrange.

Michael and Chadwick are really enchanted by my flower comment.

This is Ralph & Russo. I don’t know if it’s the dress of my personal dreams, objectively, but I think Lupita looks SMASHING in it. The smashingest. An episode of Smash, but one of the decent ones, without Debra Messing’s terrible son and also maybe without Debra Messing, and minimal McPhee, and lots of Megan Hilty and Leslie Odom Jr./Christian Borle and Anjelica Huston GETTIN’ IT with younger Thorston Kaye. That episode may not have existed.

Ryan Coogler here is in Ports 1961 and he looks dreamy. This cast seems to be having a really good time, and side note, Coogler is an INSANELY talented director who’s been robbed of awards recognition thus far — and he really deserved it, between Creed and Fruitvale Station — and I’m delighted he’s made a sensation with this movie already. HUZZAH.
