We love it at GFY when fashion and sports intersect, so it’s my goal — pun totally intended — to try and bring you a photo roundup of the day’s soccer action, and uniforms, which also happens to include nifty photography AND really good quadriceps, both of which are the rich yields of very hard work and heavy commitment.

There was only one game yesterday — a 5-0 drubbing of Saudi Arabia by Russia, which was not quite as catastrophic as the score makes it look. It was still 2-0 until about the 70th minute, and the last two admittedly lovely goals — one on a perfect setpiece — were both scored in stoppage time against rubbery legs and sad spirits. At any rate, to compensate for only two teams in play, I threw in some pictures from the Opening Ceremony. Plus I probably went a little overboard in general, just because I could, and it’s Friday, and all these matches being played at 3 a.m. Los Angeles time is bumming me out. Seriously, the last one of the day is at 11 a.m. I’m going to have to turn off my Apple News alerts again.
